Possibly, the greatest error that online Texas Holdem players commit is by being involved in more than one online Texas Holdem poker room at once. The greater part of amateur Full Tilt Poker players will believe that this is a good plan, but at the end of the day it may workout to be a detriment. This scheme of playing numerous Texas Hold em tables simultaneously will impair your awareness and in the end cost you money. Always remember that even the most famous Texas Holdem players around will make costly errors when concentrating their mind on several online poker tables simultaneously.

Any particular online Texas Holdem poker player, may at any time, discover themselves playing several Full Tilt Poker tables at the same time, at the same time as they are watching television, reading their preferred website, text messaging friends etc. This is a state which ought to be shunned if you aspire to win satellite games and make the grade for big online Texas Holdem poker tournaments. Always remember to center your thoughts on the other online Texas Holdem player’s bets, their motives, and your own internet poker hands if you want to be the best poker player.

Some Pointers for fooling your poker competition

Posted under poker & poker tournament & texas hold em tips

poker
A significant point in poker is misleading your competitors by making them think you actually have a good hand, when in all honesty it is possible you have a terrible hand. This is what people call “Poker face”, a straight expression to trick your competition into supposing an idea that may not be true.

If you happen to have a good poker hand it is most likely going to make you feel nervous, could possibly make your hands shake, and your heartbeat race. These are signs that your opponents may notice very fast, especially if they are old friends. Keep in mind not to peer over at the pot if you have some good poker cards in your hands. This is an obvious gesture for the other players that you are, in your mind, adding up how many poker chips are in the pot.

In the situation where you have a god-awful poker hand, try not to dodge your competitors eyes, don’t lower your head, and don’t be indecisive about your bet. If you can prove to yourself that your hand is just as good, or better than your competition; you will have a better chance of making them think this as well. Keep in mind to make this seem as normal as possible. Your gestures and actions could be saying one point, while the things you are talking about are making them believe something entirely different.

Another significant aspect of Texas Hold Em is to be aware of your poker buddies’ “poker tells”. A “tell” is a look or appearance that could might tell you something about their poker hand. One basic rule to keep in mind is when your opponent appears as if he has a good poker hand; he, very likely, has a poor hand. On the other side of the coin, if he behaves in a way that seem like he has a poor poker hand, he probably has a pretty decent hand.

Everybody including yourself will have a hard time winning, if the entire table is playing a tight poker game. What will take place if you have a table full of tight Texas holdem’players is the poker players will end up trading the smaller pots back and forth to each other. All the while the hotel casino is raking in loads of your hard-earned cash, and that of your competition. So now you might say, is it better to play loose? Well, in this situation the better Texas holdem’ players are going to lose a smaller number of hands, but at the end of it all nobody is going to come out on top.

Even the poker pros get bluffed every now and then

Posted under poker

According to the 2006 WSOP champ, Jamie Gold, he would be pleased to be known as the greatest bluffer in the game of poker. But if his last Texas Holdem tournament is any indication, his wish may not be granted ever.

The site is the 2007 Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic held at the Las Vegas Bellagio Hotel and Casino in 2007. Featuring $50 - $100 blinds and a $15,000 buy-in, Darrell Dicken is just barely holding on. The seat 4 player has just raised his bet to $300, a minor raise with only one player calling his play. “I put him as being weak,” Jamie said, “I was thinking about raising, but instead I just called with a 10-3 of hearts to see what would happen.”

Jamie was thinking that Brad Booth would make a move, which he did. He re-raised to $1600 from the big blind. Gold was thinking that Booth had a decent hand, but he was in a good position to make a move considering the quantity of dead money in the pot. Dicken ended up folding, and the unknown in Seat 4 called Booth’s raise.

At this point there was over $4000 in the pot, so Jamie went ahead and made it another $4000. His thought was, only if someone else had aces or kings there would be no way they would make that call. Jamie’s plan was to make a big move on the flop, as long as no ace was dealt. The second part of his strategy was to get Booth to fold, which he did. Booth folded with pocket queens.

Coming out of the flop there was an ace of ace-6-5, two clubs. The player in seat 4 checked and Jamie bet $2000. Jamie’s primary thought was to make him think that he had clubs. Seat 4 threw out a $10,000 chip, but didn’t say anything thus turning his raise into a call. Jamie’s thought was that seat 4 most likely had an ace, but you have to protect it in case he hits his set on the next card.

A 2 of hearts showed up on the turn, and Jamie went ahead and folded to what he was thinking was a top pair kicker. Seat 4 displayed a king-jack off suit. Seat 4 fooled Gold by bluffing with a superior hand, he forced a magnificent poker play and took the bluff all the way through to the finish.

New Poker TV show Places Normal People Alongside The World’s Greatest Poker Players

Posted under poker

Texas Holdem’ in the past was a game accessible only in casino hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada or from electronic poker machines, but now it is more popular than ever in Sin City thanks to the the internet.

The famous Venetian Hotel, is now betting on this new trend with its new audience-participation show called “The Real Deal!” in its showroom located in the Venetian Resort and Casino, debuting in October.

Their new show will join comedy and game show elements to entertain its live audience. The audience will also be able to join in the popular game of Texas Holdem’ alongside the world’s best poker players. The show has many prizes for the audience including a chance to win 1$ million.

In “The Real Deal!” the audience members will play with players like Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu. Around 10 of the world’s best poker players have already signed up for the game show about poker. The audience will be able to play along with the 90 minute game thanks to handheld, wireless, touch screen devices located on each seat.

“People who take a vacation in Las Vegas casinos want to play poker,” Negreanu says, “but obviously they can’t play in a top poker tournament with the people like Doyle or Phil Hellmuth. But, in this show, they actually can.” At the beginning of each show, six audience members will be chosen to sit at the poker table on stage with two pro poker players. Each audience member is then involved in the action by being dealt a unique set of poker cards on their devices. Everyone in the showroom is then involved in the action with big-screen monitors located on stage.

The show’s producers say that you don’t have to be a professional poker player to participate in the game. There are other ways to raise your point total, that doesn’t involve poker necessarily. Betting on the suit of the next poker card or trying to guess which state a particular audience member is from, are just some of the ways to come out a champion in poker in this game.

Creators of The Real Deal are also placing bets on the personalities of the professional poker stars to have great moments. Someone like Scotty Nguyen, the flamboyant five-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, definitely definitely knows how to entertain the audience and will create some moments to remember in this TV poker game show .

Celebrities Want To Legalize Online Poker

Posted under poker

Shortly after the start of last week’s charity celebrity poker tournament to support the Paralyzed Veterans of America, Ben Affleck goes all-in with a flop of Ace-Nine-King and two diamonds. He flinches when two of his rivals call the bet. He yells “Re-buy”, but the turn is a seven of hearts. Affleck is disappointed when a jack of diamonds is dealt on the river. He took the hand seriously even though there was no actual cash at stake. This is just the kind of thing that Affleck and several other poker enthusiasts are pushing for.

Over $100,000 was raised for the paralyzed victims, but this was not the only function of the poker game held in Coors Field. Members of the Poker Players Alliance are working very hard to legalize internet poker in the United States. As part of their agenda, they are pushing to repeal the 2006 legislation Congress passed which prohibits U.S. Banks and credit card companies from processing transactions related to online gaming websites.

John Pappas, executive director of the Poker Players Alliance, is optimistic about the direction that the new congress will lead this decision. Pappas says that the alliance is pushing for a licensed industry, just for online poker, and not for all internet gambling. Pappas is interested in having a safe, regulated industry that all Americans can enjoy. The group is fighting for the rights of people and the privacy they deserve in their own home.

“There are misconceptions about poker and about online poker,” poker pro Andy Bloch said in between hands during the charity celebrity poker game. “Some people think that internet gaming is gambling like a slot machine, and it’s not.”

Some poker dealers will have to search for new jobs

Posted under poker

Can you envision walking into a highly visited Las Vegas casino and seeing no poker dealers, chips, or poker cards? Well if this seems not easy to believe, you may be in for a big surprise. The Vegas based casino hotel Excalibur is now trying out with this new radical idea of automating everything from the dealers, to the actual poker tables. Executives from the casino are going to equip the rooms with 12 digitial machines for a six-month trial period.
The North-Carolina based industry PokerTek is in charge of the computer machines, which are redoing the way poker will be played in Sin City. The business already has 230 machines around the world, with the largest located in Casino du Montreal (a total of 25 computers were installed in this Canadian hotel).
So what are the downsides of this change? For starters, about 40 Excalibur poker dealers will be searching for new places to work. Some of these dealers have been functioning at the hotel since its opening in 1990. Todd DeRemer, Excalibur’s Vice President of Casino Operations, says that the poker dealers will be offered other dealer careers in the same hotel.
According to DeRemer, the change is being made to give rookie poker players a chance to play this popular game without feeling intimidated. He had already played these new machines before deciding upon the alteration. “It’s not overwhelming”, he says, “We think that area will bring back the poker players”.
The enhanced machines will allow the gamblers to play Texas hold’em, seven card stud and Omaha. 40-inch flat screen monitors, which are located in the center of the table, will display each table’s community cards, gambler’s stakes and the pot.
